Yoga with kids

Do you have kids?

Do you babysit children?

If the answer is YES to either of those … you will understand how much energy they have on a daily basis. It’s enough to energize an entire country at times!

Lately, I have been helping out or participating in yoga for kids – it’s so neat to see today’s youth challenge themselves! Plus, it shows them ways to use their body – bending, stretching, etc.

I realize not everyone can make it to a kid’s themed yoga class, but that doesn’t have to stop you from trying out yoga moves with your kiddo!

Earlier in December my friend at Sprouting Roots Yoga LLC made a YOGA DICE!

A what?

Yes, a yoga dice – she wrapped a large box in wrapping paper and taped on different yoga poses as shown on cards! The idea is to have the child roll the dice and mimic the pose!

Don’t have yoga cards? (Not many of us do, but since Sprouting Roots Yoga LLC is geared toward kids, and Jocelyn knows what she is doing!)

That’s ok … finding images online and printing them off works just as well!

Ideas on what to look for include Downward Dog, Child’s Pose, etc.

Want to do something other than yoga?

How about print off images of a child running, jumping, skipping, etc.

Anything to get you and your kiddo moving is GREAT!

Do you have any ideas that are OUT OF THE BOX? Share them below!
